Software planning is a core delivery skill, not a prelude to coding.

Much of Kyle’s experience has involved systems that sit at the centre of a business: custom ERPs, scheduling tools, inventory records, billing preparation, contractor portals, permitting applications, inspection workflows, databases, and integrations with external products.

The work begins by sitting with the people who use the system and understanding how records move, which exceptions matter, where authority changes hands, and how bad data affects the business. That operational model becomes the foundation for the database, application states, permissions, integrations, and recovery design.

Comfortable in difficult legacy environments

Legacy software is rarely difficult only because of its programming language. The hard part is reconstructing intent: which behaviour is essential, which behaviour is accidental, what staff have learned to work around, and what will break if a structural assumption changes.

Experience includes vanilla PHP, Laravel, Angular, C#/.NET, VB.NET, SQL databases, API integrations, cloud hosting, and taking responsibility for unfamiliar codebases when prior developers were no longer available.

Accounting-heavy systems, finance, statistics, data architecture, audit history, legal reasoning, and security-aware development all influence how Datawalker approaches software. These areas are used to ask better design questions—not to substitute for licensed legal, accounting, tax, or cybersecurity professionals.

Practical AI capability

Current work includes local language models, model serving, prompt and sampler experimentation, orchestration workflows, a custom LLM harness, and a transformer-based options research project built around a large historical dataset. AI services are positioned around controlled business applications rather than inflated claims of autonomous transformation.
